Barkatullah Maruf views his role not only as a development communicator, but as a catalyst for public awareness, justice, and systemic change. His decision to join Platform Bangladesh was grounded in a lifelong commitment to inclusive communication, civic empowerment, and environmental integrity.

Abu Musa Iftekhar is a distinguished Bangladeshi architect who views his role not merely as a designer of buildings, but as a responsible and engaged citizen committed to social and environmental justice. His work goes beyond architecture, extending into education, urban and rural planning, human rights, and environmental stewardship.Mr. Musa brings to Platform Bangladesh a deep commitment to socially responsive design and civic engagement. He connects the built environment with the broader concerns of justice and sustainability, helping to shape the organization’s vision, strategy, and community outreach. Through his leadership, Platform Bangladesh benefits from a thoughtful intersection of architectural expertise and civic responsibility.

ABDULLAH ANBAR ANAN TITIR

Abdullah Anbar Anan Titir is a barrister with an advanced degree in human rights. He has been closely involved with BLAST, one of Bangladesh’s leading legal aid and human rights organizations. Currently, he works as a freelance consultant with several institutions, offering his expertise on justice and rights-based issues.

Driven by a shared vision, he joined Platform Bangladesh to contribute his legal insight, human rights experience, and values to the platform’s broader mission of equity, justice, and social transformation.

FATIMA TUJ JOHORA

Fatima Tuj Johora is a Bangladeshi visual journalist and documentary photographer currently working as a contract photographer for Reuters and ZUMA Press (USA). With a strong background in visual storytelling, she has contributed to international agencies including Pacific Press and DrikNEWS. A National Geographic Explorer (2022), Fatima has participated in prestigious programs such as the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop and the New York Times Portfolio Review. Her work reflects a deep commitment to capturing human stories and socio-environmental issues through a compassionate and insightful lens.

Yusuf Ali Noton is an accomplished illustrator and graphic artist with over two decades of professional experience in Bangladesh’s creative industry. Since beginning his career in 1996, he has contributed to numerous national and international projects with organizations such as UNICEF, Room to Read, and English in Action. His expertise spans illustration, animation, and educational content development, and he has led major design initiatives including the MEENA cartoon and various government education programs. As Chairman of Subarna Rekha (2021–2025), he continues to inspire through his artistic vision and commitment to impactful visual storytelling.

With over two decades of work in national and international organizations, she has led transformative initiatives that promote women’s empowerment, inclusive governance, and humanitarian response. Currently serving as the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Specialist at Concern Worldwide, she has contributed to key policy development, capacity building, and advocacy efforts to advance gender justice in Bangladesh. 'Mahmudul Islam Forhad is a Bangladeshi architect, academic, and Fellow Member of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB). A graduate of the Department of Architecture at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET, 1999–2003), he currently serves as a faculty member at the Asia Pacific University, Dhaka. Renowned for his philosophical and introspective approach to design, Forhad’s work explores the dualities of intellect and emotion, often depicting the human struggle with identity and consciousness through expressive, almost anatomical illustrations. His professional career began with Concord Group, later expanding into academic and design leadership through national competitions and mentorship. As co-founder of the '''Centre for Building Design (CBD)''', alongside Mujtaba Zia Uddin, Forhad has bridged architectural practice, education, and innovation—shaping a generation of young architects with his intellectual rigor and visionary thought.

MOHAMMAD SOHRAB HUSSAIN

Sohrab Hussain is a seasoned professional in public health program management, research, and climate change adaptation, with over 15 years of experience in leading and implementing large-scale health and development initiatives in Bangladesh. Currently serving as Manager of Partnership Programs at Pathfinder International, he manages the Women-Led Climate Resilience (WLCR) project, focusing on localization, community implementation, and strategic partnerships, including collaboration with the Climate Change Health Promotion Unit of the Ministry of Health. His expertise spans USAID and Gates Foundation–funded projects, sub-grant management, behavioral change communication (SBCC), and program innovation through human-centered design. Sohrab’s work bridges the gap between community needs and institutional action, driving sustainable solutions in health systems, climate resilience, and social inclusion.

MD Manirul Alam (Shawon Akand) is a Dhaka-based artist, researcher, curator, and entrepreneur. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Dhaka, he serves as the Director and co-founder of Jothashilpa, an organization dedicated to bridging traditional and contemporary art practices through community engagement and craft preservation. Akand is also a founding member of the CRACK International Art Camp (CIAC), an influential platform fostering creative collaboration in Kushtia. His notable recent work includes the installation “Slow Friend, Be Slow,” exhibited at the Dhaka Art Summit 2023. Recognized for his contributions to art and curatorial research, he was awarded a CIMAM 2023 Travel Grant, reflecting his growing presence in international art and museum networks.

Dipak Kumar Roy is a dedicated professional and social activist with over two decades of experience in the cultural and development sectors of Bangladesh. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Sanhati Prokashan, Dhaka, he has worked extensively with organizations like POPI and Rupantor. Passionate about literature, music, film, and theatre, he has founded and managed several community and cultural initiatives, including the publication and cultural organization MONDUAAR. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to social responsibility, education, and cultural enrichment.

Md Sazzadul Alam is a freelance photographer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Through his lens, he seeks to portray the struggles and emotions of people who are often unable to express their feelings and hardships. A self-taught photographer, Sazzadul began his journey by learning the fundamentals of photography on his own. Over time, he has participated in several workshops conducted by renowned photographers, further honing his skills. Recently, he joined the Open School of Photography to deepen his knowledge and practice in Documentary Photography.

Ripan Kumar Das (Dhrubo Das) is an independent activist filmmaker from Bangladesh who works as a writer, photographer, cinematographer, editor, and director. His edited film Life of an Outcast (available on Netflix) was officially selected for the Mumbai International Film Festival 2018. He has also edited Kabir's Path and I Am Draupadi, while his documentaries Settled to be Displaced—winner of a Special Mention at Dhaka DocLab 2019—and Jiboner Railgari are currently in production. A graduate of the University of Dhaka, Dhrubo began his career as a news producer before focusing on filmmaking. He is the General Secretary of the Ranesh Dasgupta Film Society and formerly worked with the Dhaka University Film Society

Engr. Md. Haque is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP). He earned his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from BUET and his M.Sc. from the University of Oklahoma, USA. With over 30 years of academic, research, and professional experience in Bangladesh and the United States, he specializes in geotechnical engineering, foundation engineering, structural engineering, and pavement engineering. He has contributed to numerous industrial and infrastructure projects while actively teaching and conducting research. He is keen to join Platform Bangladesh to share his expertise, mentor young engineers, and help bridge education, research, and industry for the development of future-ready professionals.

Dr. Kamrul Hakim is an accomplished Electrical Engineer with extensive academic and professional experience in Bangladesh and abroad. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico (2013), an M.Sc. from Penn State University, and a B.Sc. from BUET, where he ranked 5th in his class with Dean’s List honors. Dr. Hakim has served as Senior Applications Engineer at Samsung Austin Semiconductors, Senior Technical Professional at Halliburton (USA), and currently works as Senior Technical Advisor at Ananda Group. A former Lecturer at BUET and UIU, he combines technical expertise with a deep commitment to education and social development.

He believes that joining Platform Bangladesh provides an opportunity to give back to the community that has shaped him. As the Principal Architect and Chairman of Archeground Ltd., he has led diverse projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. A graduate of BUET, he combines thoughtful design with social purpose, shaping architecture that balances innovation, functionality, and human impact. Alongside his professional work, he serves as an Adjunct Faculty at BRAC University and contributes to professional leadership as the General Secretary of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh.

Mr. Yussouf is a seasoned finance and systems professional with over two decades of experience across government, corporate, and development sectors in Australia and Bangladesh. He currently serves as Assistant Director at the National Library of Australia, following roles at the Australian Electoral Commission, Comcare, and ANZ.

Earlier in his career, he worked with Grameen Communications in Bangladesh, managing ICT projects in collaboration with Grameen Bank, Grameen Phone, and IDRC Canada, focused on rural socio-economic development.

Tanvir Mahmud (born 15 September 1976) is a Bangladeshi architect and the Chief Architect and CEO of Axis Design Studio, which he founded in 2002. A graduate of BUET with over 23 years of experience, he has contributed to contemporary architecture in Bangladesh through innovative, sustainable, and context-driven designs. His firm, based in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, offers a wide range of design and visualization services and has earned recognition from the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB). Passionate about Rural Housing and Urban Planning, Tanvir believes that thoughtful planning can transform lives. Through Platform Bangladesh, he aims to promote effective planning programs and community initiatives that foster lasting positive change for a better future.

Dr. Abdullah Nazma Nowroz is an accomplished Electrical and Computer Engineer with an outstanding academic background from some of the world's leading universities. He earned his B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from Boston University, his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (VLSI) from the University of Southern California (USC), and his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Brown University. Jubair Hasan Architects (JHA) is a Bangladesh-based architectural practice founded in 2010 by Ar. Md. Jubair Hasan, a BUET graduate. The practice explores contemporary architecture rooted in Bangladesh’s climate, context, culture, materials, and social realities.

Rather than following Western modernism, JHA seeks an architectural language that reflects Bengali modernity and regional heritage. Its work focuses on climate-responsive design, local materials, contextual understanding, and continuous experimentation. The ideas of Ar. Muzharul Islam remain an important influence.

JHA’s approach aligns closely with Platform Bangladesh’s people- and development-focused vision. Its expertise in contextual, climate-responsive, and culturally relevant design can contribute to Platform’s community, environmental, and development initiatives through practical architectural and spatial solutions.

ISTIAK AHMED

Istiakh Ahmed is a Ph.D. candidate in Public Policy at Northeastern University, Boston, with an academic background in Anthropology. His work focuses on climate justice, climate finance, Loss and Damage, and equitable climate governance, with nearly a decade of research and policy experience.

Previously, he worked with GIZ on Climate Adaptation and ICCCAD on Loss and Damage, and has participated in six UN Climate Conferences (COPs), contributing to global climate policy and advocacy. Through Platform Bangladesh, he aims to apply his research, policy expertise, and international experience to advance environmental protection, climate resilience, sustainability, and a more equitable and climate-resilient Bangladesh.

S.M MAHMUDUR RAHMAN

S. M. Mahmudur Rahman, based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, has an interdisciplinary background in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics and Digital Technology, with academic experience including the University of Leicester. He is associated with STYLEZWORLD INC., working in technology, software and digital solutions.

A significant part of his social-impact journey is his long-standing involvement with Badhan, the voluntary blood-donation movement originating at the University of Dhaka. Since 1997, he has been involved in Badhan’s early development, including its voluntary blood-group testing initiative, organisational growth and subsequent digital development, helping leverage technology to connect blood donors and recipients.

With this combination of humanitarian experience, healthcare and life sciences, digital technology and international professional exposure, he is interested in contributing to Platform  as a member/adviser.
